Itinerary

Day 1Fort Kochi

Upon your arrival at the airport, you will be escorted to your hotel in Fort Kochi. You spend the evening at leisure and get set for your cycling adventure in the coming days. Cochin is the cosmopolitan center of Kerala and your hotel is one among the very few in the colonial and heritage town of Fort Kochi.

Some of the best spots in Fort Kochi and Mattancherry [the more historical hub] include the DutchPalacee, the Jew Synagogue, St Francis’ Church, Dutch Cemetery, Chinese Fishing nets, Santa Cruz Cathedral and so on. The old world charm infused with the numerous spice markets, antique shops, and art galleries will amaze you.

Day 2: 50 kmFort Kochi - Thattekkad

Post breakfast, you leave to a hamlet called ‘Cherukunnam’. This little village is interspersed with canals in all directions. You bike along one of these canal bund roads amid lush green paddy fields, numerous coconut trees and lonely villages leading you to the Edamalayar forests.

The Edamalayar forests and the Thattekad Bird Sanctuary are famed for the many species of birds. The birds, the air and the calm breeze boost and rejuvenate your body & mind. End your day with Kayaking on the longest river in Kerala followed by plantation walks.

Spread around an area of 25 sq km, this sanctuary has more than 200 varieties of birds including the large falcon, grey jungle fowl, white-breasted water hen, hornbill etc. Another attraction you head to is the Bhoothathankettu; a scenic dam site. Through this extraordinary experience, you will stay at exquisite resorts/camps basking in the natural and effortless splendor of Kerala.

Day 3: 50 kmThattekkad - Athirappilly

After a short private transfer, we start the day cycling towards Athirappilly Falls. This waterfall is considered one of the largest in the Western Ghats. The tracks take you through the hills past verdant forests and tea estates.

You spend the night in Alleppey amidst a million stars surrounding the night sky, the breeze silently steers you into God’s own waters.
